"SHABLA AND THE BIRDS"

A winter festival dedicated to birds and especially to red-breasted geese was held in the town of Shabla on December 17 and 18, 2022.

Green Balkans, together with the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds of Prey, told the visitors about our activities related to the protection of this valuable and rare species. All visitors received information materials, and the smallest and children's books about the history of the Red-breasted Goose Brent. We also presented models in real sizes made by Nikolay Todorov of a Black Sea Harbour Porpoiseand a Red-breasted Goose.

The festival is called "SHABLA AND THE BIRDS" and through it the idea of ​​protecting the rich bird diversity that flies over the territory of Shabla municipality along the Via Pontica migration route will be popularized. It is organized by the municipality of Shabla with the assistance of the Green Education Center. The organizers have taken care to create a cozy atmosphere that predisposes to cheerful and fun activities, despite the winter! There were various and very interesting creative workshops and animations, a puppet show, a fairy tale with drawings, a quiz, an amateur photo contest and ….. an unexpected fiery ending with the stars of "Pаlyachi".
