Natura 2000 Day in Kavarna

***
18.05.2022
In the previous week we had also visited Kavarna as part of our campaign for the 30th anniversary of Natura 2000. Our hosts were the students from "Yordan Yovkov" Primary School in the town of Kavarna.
Students from 5th and 6th grade with class teacher Mrs. Stefka Gabrovska welcomed us with curiosity and ready to learn new facts related to the biodiversity of Bulgaria. The event was followed by a presentation about the Red-breasted Goose as it winters in their area, namely Golden Dobrudzha. Interactive puzzles on the topic of cetaceans and Red-breasted Goose helped to strengthen their knowledge. And as a final touch - the majestic vultures that used to be found in Bulgaria and for whose reintroduction Green Balkans is working - Griffon and Cinereous Vulture, Egyptian and Bearded Vulture. All these animals are subject to conservation by the European ecological network Natura 2000.
Our Natura 2000 Day campaign continues until the end of May as follows:
19 May - Sliven
20 May - Burgas
21 May - Pomorie
23 May - Teteven
26 May – Cherni Osam
27 May – Pleven
28 May – Plovdiv
