"Accelerating change" is this year's theme, and nearly 400 children from kindergartens, schools and eco-clubs in the city took part in the celebration. 36 educational institutions, clubs, institutions and organizations took part in the program. The students from the Plovdiv schools had made models, presentations and drawings related to the motto "Be the change you want to see in the world". At the end of the celebration, the most interesting projects were awarded.
The first place was won by the students of the 5th grade from "Elin Pelin" Elementary School for their hand-made model of a Southern bypass collector. The second place was won by the children from Stoyan Sariev Private Language High School, and the students from Dimitar Matevski Secondary School were awarded the third place.
Green Balkans presented information about the ecological network Natura 2000 and water-loving species - Sandwich Tern, Red-Breasted Goose and Pygmy cormorant. Some of the students had the opportunity to arrange the entertaining puzzle with thePygmy Cormorant by answering the questions in it. All visitors to the Green Balkans table received information materials and posters. The event was also attended by colleagues from the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds with information about birds and forests, the Agrarian University - colleagues and students who demonstrated the properties of water and the International Movement "Let's Save the Soil" presented at their stands curious facts about biodiversity and how much water is important to ecosystems.
