As part of our activity under the project "Natura 2000 in Bulgaria - New Horizons" under the LIFE program of the European Commission, we held a competition for graffiti artists to paint three facades in Bulgaria. Two of them will be in Stara Zagora with an Imperial Eagle and a Saker Falcon and one in the village of Bulgarevo of a Red-Breasted Goose.
And so our competition was won by Andrey Palval with his project, which you can already see realized on the facade of the Community Center "Naroden Buditel - 1940" - village of Bulgarevo. We chose the Red-Breasted Goose to be painted in the village of Bulgarevo, because it is found in these places, Durankulak and Shabla in winter. An emblematic species for the region, which is included in the Red Book of the Republic of Bulgaria as a vulnerable species. And for which Green Balkans has been working for years to preserve the species.
We remind you that for the next competition, two of the cages in the Sofia Zoo are to be painted with bears. More information about the competition can be found here. The deadline for submitting documents is March 12.
