During the last week the team on “Natura 2000 – New Horizons” project visited the area of Coastal Dobrogea, where just shortly after celebrating the World Wetlands Day in the beginning of the month, we talked on the topic with the students from “St. Kliment Ochridski” primary school.
In addition to the importance of wetlands and their relationship with climate change, the children have become acquainted with extraordinary biodiversity of those habitats. Of course, we paid attention to the Red-breasted and other geese that winter in the area and are already taking their long way to the breeding grounds. The students were particularly impressed by the great variety of birds that meet in the area, their attractive coloring and song, and with the warming of the weather we all become more impatient for the return of migrating birds.
We are thankful for the warm welcome of the school management, and the interest and curiosity that all the students showed during the presentation.
