Visiting the Yagoda village Community Centre with the kestrel Vladko

Some children decide to use their summer holiday to get to know new things by joining various events and initiatives.

The Green Balkans team was invited by the “Geo Milev” community centre in the Yagoda village to make a visit and share interesting facts to local children.

The story got much more interesting because of the kestrel Vladko, who knows how to win children’s hearts. We told the children about the Green Balkans activities for the protection of species that fall into the ecological network of Natura 2000 in Bulgaria. Our beautiful Red-breasted Goose model was an important focus during the visit and the children shared that they had never seen this particular species before. This is because it comes to Bulgaria only in the cold winter and far from Stara Zagora – in the area around Shabla and Durankulak and sometimes closer to Burgas. There was another model of the Griffon Vulture Gosho that impressed the youngest children with its real size. At the end there was a quiz about animal species and Natura 2000 with many prizes and a book about the Adventures of the Red-breasted Goose Brent for all children.

We would like to express our gratitude to Mrs. Stefka Georgieva for the invitation! Have a nice holiday kids and see you soon!

For the Red-breasted Goose
