The Green Balkans team visited the ninth graders from the ‘Veselin Hanchev’ Primary school in Stara Zagora to talk about Red-breasted Geese in Bulgaria. The children learned interesting facts about the lives of Red-breasted Geese – where they live, what they eat and how long they travel to our country.

Our ambassador - Brent, the Red-breasted Goose model, was a big hit among the students and helped them understand how exquisite and amazing these creatures are. They are able to travel up to 8000 km from their homes in Siberia to their wintering grounds in Bulgaria. It is also very important to keep them safe and not to stress them while they are visiting our country after their long travel as that can often cost them their lives.

After the presentation, the children joined our educational game about the species protected within the Natura 2000 network in Bulgaria.

We’d like to thank Ms Nadka Nikolova for inviting us and to all children for their interesting questions and eagerness to learn.
